Living Questions, Trusting Silence, Embracing Wonder

a residential Circle of Trust retreat

Saturday 23 March  3pm – Monday 25 March 12pm, 2024

Rainer Maria Rilke suggested a century ago that living patiently with our questions will help us to find our way in life and will lead eventually to answers we can understand even while we hold space for the mystery and complexity of our lives.

This retreat welcomes a maximum of 15 participants and offers the opportunity to take time out of our busy and often noisy lives to recognise the questions we are living at this time and to sit in silence and wonder as we reflect upon them and grow into them.

Circle of Trust Retreats utilise resources (poems, stories, music, artistic and embodied activities) and reflective practices within the Courage and Renewal approach, developed by the Center for Courage and Renewal, which was founded by Parker Palmer, a Quaker activist and educator. You can learn more about Circle of Trust Retreats by viewing this video.

In this retreat you will learn and practice deep listening and communication skills, be moved by poems, images and activities, reflect alone and together with others on the possibility and necessity of living with alignment between  soul and role. Yoga, movement, meditation and rest will offer spaciousness, integration, replenishment, and renewal. You will be enriched by your own and others’ creativity and affirmed by the process of contributing in community.

Noela Maletz (M Soc Sc BA Dip Ed) is an educator, psychotherapist and Courage & Renewal Facilitator. More than thirty years ago she joined with others to establish a Waldorf School and then a Social Therapy Centre for people with disabilities, in Adelaide, and worked in both of these places. Most of her current work is in private practice, as a psychotherapist and supervisor, and in growing Courage & Renewal work in SA and Australasia. She is awed by the possibilities and necessities of a life lived as mindfully, wholeheartedly and as kindly as she can manage and is grateful to enjoy the complexities of a large and loving family and a treasury of friends.

Noela is mentoring Clare as a Courage & Renewal facilitator in training and we (Noela and Clare) are delighted to be co-creating this retreat, with our shared intentions of living with wonder, revealing beauty, courageously questioning, and aspiring to contribute in life giving ways to our world.
